BeautyCon London was an amazing day from beginning to end; it took place at the Olympia London on 23rd May. I opted for the Pro Ticket which allowed me early access to the event and a free goodie bag, and let’s face it, who doesn’t love some freebies? The goodie bag and freebies from the event were so amazing I will be uploading a separate post revealing my haul tomorrow, so watch this space! For today let me walk you through the event itself and fill you in on what the highlights were for me…
One of the sponsers of the event was The Platform. They had a really cool hangout at the event complete with pink neon lights, and fluffy pillows. It was here that I got to meet the beautiful Teni Panosian and got involved in a game of Platform Pictionary, needless to say #TeamTeni won and we all got #PlatformBabes t-shirts to take home. This was probably one of the highlights of my day, especially considering I guessed the tie-breaker for us and helped us win the game! Check out my instagram for more pics from Platform Pictionary.
The line up for the panels on the day was something else, they had some of the top YouTube creators in beauty and fashion there. The panels covered everything form creating content to girl problems and advice. Everyone came across really down to earth and humble of their successes, encouraging all present to go home and get behind the camera and become a YouTube creator too.
One of my favourite stands aesthetically, was the Benefit Cosmetics area. It has their usually retro twist, complete with cupcakes, pink lemonade and free make-overs and tutorials from their team. They were also selling some of their top products at a slightly discounted price, and all they asked for their lemonade was a donation to their charity.
At the NYX Cosmetics booth there was free make-up tutorials on offer throughout the day. They weren’t selling any products, but if you took a selfie in front of the stand you could pick one free product from their sweet shop style display.
The Tarte stand had plenty to offer, with a selection of their best-selling products at a discounted price. I was really impressed with the prices they were offering on the day, with their Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara selling at £10! A serious bargain. ‘Welcome to the Beach’ with Liz Earle, a really beautiful relaxation area for the day. Liz Earle were offering free manicures and free product samples. Their Twitter Vending machine was a very clever set up, you simply had to send a tweet with their hashtag and tag their Twitter profile and the machine would realise a free sample to you.
Ogx were offering free hairstyling while promoting their products and new Instagram page. I can’t wait to try their Sunkissed Blonde Lemon Highlights shampoo, it smelled amazing!
Eyelure were offering free lash application and brow shaping tutorials. You could have a set of lashes free if you took a selfie in front of their stand.
StyLondon were offering free Flastats. Priv were doing hair tutorials for their products and Red Carpet Manicures were doing complementary Gel manicures all day as well as selling a huge selection of their products.
There were also Meet&Greets throughout the day with different YouTube creators and lots of other activities at The Platform hangout as well as other booths and stands. The only let down for me was the food selection, there were only two small food stands for the whole event; one offered hot dogs and the other coffee, muffins and sandwiches. As a Vegetarian my food choices on the day were very limited, even though on the BeautyCon site they boasted their would be a wide selection of food for all dietary requirements. But that is just one downside in what was a truly fantastic day in a whole. Stay tuned for my haul post of the products and goodies from the day.
