Moroccan Paradise at Souk
I am really excited to share this post, as this is a new found favourite restaurant in London. Souk is a Moroccan restaurant hidden away in Covent Garden, the entrance is so subtle you could almost miss it. However, once you step inside you are transported to Morocco; the beautiful décor and subtle lighting of this place makes you feel you are any where but London, and the food is no exception to that.
The low couches and chairs, cover in plump cushions, the rugs and fabrics draped from the ceilings, the stain-glass lights and lanterns casting colour and shadows across the room; I felt like I was on Aladdin’s magic carpet flying into an Arabian dream.
The food is simply outstanding, never have I tasted hummus and falafel like this, even the simple chickpea dishes, served in terracotta bowls, were delicious.
If you are visiting as a couple or as part of a small group make sure to try the value menus, you get everything listed as a regular portion size, perfect for sharing.
What better way to finish off a Moroccan meal than with a sweet mint tea, it is simply delicious.
